#BrewingDemocracy With Anheuser-Busch

During the polarizing national debates of 2016, Anheuser-Busch (ABI) took a cue from our founding fathers – bringing people and parties together over a pint. Under the campaign platform of #Brewdemocracy, ABI called for the public to engage in political discussions the way we’ve done it since 1776, while drinking a beer.


In colonial times, the pubs – the earliest of political institutions – were filled with pamphlets and the excited chatter of political discourse. It was within these courts that public opinion was shaped.


Continuing that American tradition, during each of the national debates AbI partnered with ITC to create the Anheuser-Busch Biergarten – the place to sit, have a meal and a beverage and engage in discussion.


Using the #BrewDemocracy mantra as a rallying cry, ABI issued a national survey to the voting public and members in attendance at the debate. 84% of American voters indicated they “found common political ground after sitting down together over a beer.”
